Round 16 - Mernda blow away the Hills

SENIORS

Glenn Oakley was a late withdrawal with a work injury and Justin White with illness which placed greater pressure on the Redbacks depth, but Ricky Woods pulled the boots on once again and Trent Coleman played in both the Reserves and Seniors. The Mernda ground was in perfect condition for a fast flowing first quarter and although the Hills scored three goals The Demons scored eight straight from some decisive centre clearances. The next two quarters were a lot closer as the Panton Hill side put themselves back in the game. The last was a blowout although the positives were two goals to Ricky Woods and one to Justin Whitcher to cap off another good game to the small forward.

RESERVES

Only one on the bench makes it tough but great to see some old faces helping out the magoos. Paul Hussey played a cameo at full forward after a seven year absence. The Redbacks continued to put in an effort all day against a much better and high quality opposition.
